Laura Chavin Concours des Meilleurs Connaisseurs

The term "Concours des Meilleurs Connaisseurs" translates to "Competition of the Best Connoisseurs" in French, and this competition among the best is something the Concours series truly doesn't need to shy away from when it enters the ring with the most renowned cigar brands. The series originated from Laura Chavin's 10-year anniversary in 2008 and already brought anticipation of a very special enjoyment to cigar aficionados back then. The series is presented in the 2019 edition with two formats: Robusto and Diadema. The filler, binder, and wrapper all come from the Dominican Republic, making the Concours des meilleurs Connaisseur cigars genuine Dominican Puros. They are noticeably more aromatic and at the same time w than the Classic Line, yet they remain harmonious and also correspond here to the exquisite Laura Chavin character, which combines the complexity of flavors with a special finesse.

Original background information up to the year 2019:

Based on the blend of the legendary Concours from 2003 in the Belicoso format, the entire line now presents itself in five formats. As with every Limited Edition from Helmut Bührle, the tobacco blend is a secret. On the company's website, it is written that about 70% of the filler consists of tobacco from an island that cannot be named here, and that the wrapper comes from Cameroon. Additionally, there is a second, very delicate leaf under the wrapper, followed by the binder that encloses the filler.

Currently available in 5 different vitolas, these surely represent a highlight in Helmut Bührle's portfolio. A special recommendation from us is the Belicoso, which might not be a bargain but is a perfect cigar for special moments! I still remember well how my first Concours des meilleurs Connaisseurs at an event with him in 2003 left a strong impression on me.
