Villiger Dominican Selection

These cigars are handcrafted medium-fillers from the Dominican Republic that were previously sold under the name El Mundo Del Tabaco Dominican Selection. The background is that the company owner, Heinrich Villiger, founded an import company for non-Cuban cigars in the 1990s, which initially carried the aforementioned name. Originally a separate entity, this company was then integrated back into the parent company, Villiger Cigars, around 2006 to achieve synergies.

This focus on the name and brand Villiger is evident in the introduction of Villiger 1888 and other re-launches like this one. In 2015, the cigar ring and box design were completely redesigned, but the blend itself was NOT altered. Five different vitolas continue to be offered, now packaged in 25-count wooden boxes with the new design. We are very pleased with the new, distinct design because, unfortunately, the Zigarren Best Buy Bundles and the Villiger Dominican Selection, or the former El Mundo del Tabaco Dominican Selection, were previously wrapped with the same cigar ring, which caused some confusion at times.

With a filler blend of Piloto tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, an Indonesian binder, and a Connecticut Seed wrapper from Ecuador, these cigars provide a genuine alternative to many machine-made cigars.
