Rancho Luna Blue
The Rancho cigars are produced in two different versions as medium fillers: the Rancho Luna Blue introduced here and the slightly stronger Rancho Luna Red Cigars. Both were first launched in 2016 and then completely revamped and reintroduced in 2025. These medium filler or mixed filler cigars are made using short filler tobacco clippings from the production of other long filler cigars at the Fábrica de Puros Aladino, and they are manufactured at the Tabacalera Las Lomas in the Jamastran region. The previous versions, which were not available in Germany, were long filler cigars. Rancho Luna Blue uses a Connecticut wrapper, while the Rancho Luna Red features a Sun Grown wrapper. All the tobacco for both Rancho Luna lines, including the wrappers, comes from the Eiroa family farms in Honduras.
Rancho Luna Cigars: Medium Filler Made from Honduran Tobacco
The company behind the brand is JRE Cigars, which stands for Julio R. Eiroa and his son Justo M. Eiroa, the founders of the business. In other words, they are the father and brother of Christian Eiroa, who has clearly chosen a different entrepreneurial path. Christian runs his own operations with CLE Cigars and Eiroa Cigars, which are distributed by Schuster Cigars in Bünde. After selling the Camacho brand to Davidoff, Christian's father Julio initially focused on growing tobacco and later resumed production of his own Aladino Cigars and Tatascan Cigars with his son Justo. Since 2025, JRE Cigar Company cigars have been distributed in Germany by our fellow retailer Sebastian Gollas in Berlin.
Christian Eiroa, CLE and Eiroa Cigars: Independent Paths After Camacho
I clearly remember sitting at the same table as Justo during the VCF Dinner at Intertabac 2024. That evening, we had an in-depth conversation about his previous job with a soft drink manufacturer in Honduras. He is a very pleasant person and did not speak negatively about his brother, even though the two brothers (Christian and Justo) have taken noticeably separate paths in developing their brands. My theory is that their father never fully came to terms with selling “his” brand Camacho to the Davidoff Group in 2008, and perhaps blames Christian for doing it too early—or too cheaply?
