Rancho Luna Red

The Rancho Luna cigars rely on homegrown Honduran tobacco and combine it with an attractive price-performance ratio. Since their relaunch in 2025, they have been produced as medium fillers and are available in two versions: the milder Rancho Luna Blue with a Connecticut wrapper, and the stronger Rancho Luna Red with a Sun Grown wrapper. Both lines are produced at Tabacalera Las Lomas using leftover cuts from high-quality long filler cigars of the Aladino cigars from the same company. They are aimed at aficionados who are looking for a straightforward and approachable smoke with substance.
JRE Cigars: Family Business with a Clear Vision
The brand is backed by the JRE Cigar Company, run by Julio R. Eiroa and his son Justo. The duo belongs to the traditional Eiroa family, a long-established name in the cigar world. After selling the Camacho brand to Davidoff in 2008, Julio initially focused on tobacco cultivation before launching new brands such as Aladino and Tatascan together with Justo under JRE Cigars. Their business philosophy is full control through vertical integration, from the seed to the finished cigar. Justo’s brother, Christian Eiroa, operates independently and distributes his CLE cigars and Eiroa cigars in Germany through Schuster Cigars in Bünde. The slogan printed on every Eiroa box reads in Spanish: “Salud, Amor y Pesetas” – which roughly translates to health, love and money. Right up my alley!
Rancho Luna Blue and Red at a Glance
The Rancho Luna Blue impresses with mild creaminess and a subtle spiciness – ideal for beginners or fans of milder cigars. Its counterpart, the Rancho Luna Red, delivers more body and depth, making it a great choice for more experienced smokers. Both versions use only tobacco from the company’s own farms in Jamastran, Honduras, and show how exciting medium fillers can be when crafted with expertise and care.
