Tatascan Classic

Just like the Rancho Luna Zigarren before them, the Tatascan Zigarren arrived in Germany in summer 2025. Both lines were originally launched in the U.S. back in 2016 and are aimed at aficionados looking for uncomplicated cigars with character. The Tatascan line immediately stands out thanks to its eye-catching yellow wooden boxes. Two versions are available: one with a Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador, and the one introduced here with a Sun Grown wrapper from Honduras. Both are rolled as medium fillers, which helps ensure an even and consistent smoking experience. A particularly notable feature is the sweetened tip—the so-called “Sweet Tip”—which delivers a mild sweetness on the lips without the tobacco itself being flavored.
The Eiroa Family and JRE Tobacco: Cigar Brands with a Double Family Heritage
Brands like Aladino Zigarren, Rancho Luna, and Tatascan are all produced by the JRE Tobacco Company, run by Julio and Justo Eiroa. The Eiroa family has been active in the tobacco industry for decades and today focuses on their own tobacco cultivation and high-quality production in Honduras. While Julio and Justo distribute their lines through JRE, their second son Christian Eiroa follows his own path with brands such as CLE Zigarren and Eiroa Cigars. Interestingly, the family’s product lines are distributed by different importers in Germany—JRE products, for example, are available through Sebastian Gollas in Berlin.
Rancho Luna, Tatascan, and Aladino: JRE’s Portfolio Now Available in Germany
The Tatascan Zigarren offer two distinct flavor profiles: a milder version with a Connecticut wrapper and a bolder one with a Sun Grown wrapper. Both feature a sweetened tip treated with sugarcane syrup—without affecting the tobacco itself. This combination creates a pleasant balance of a sweet start and a classic tobacco flavor as the smoke progresses. Similar to the Drew Estate Tabak Especial Zigarren, this line has built a loyal following—a clear sign of the growing appeal of cigars with a sweet touch.
