Baron von Bossner: Cigar Pioneer from St. Petersburg
The mastermind behind Bossner is Konstantin Loskutnikov, a man who is a brand in himself. Shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union, he left his hometown of St. Petersburg for Berlin, where he built his business as Baron von Bossner. While not an actual baron, he enjoys surrounding himself with luxurious and expensive items.
As a businessman, he is highly enterprising, dealing in everything from Cognac from France to wine from Georgia, a region once considered the Tuscany of the USSR and still a lesser-known wine region in Western Europe. The Baron’s name also graces fine shoes, leather accessories, chocolates, energy drinks, and more.
Bossner Cigars: Eccentricity Meets the Culture of Enjoyment
And, of course, cigars. Elegant longfillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic reveal that Loskutnikov not only excels in business but also knows a thing or two about tobacco. The Baron often personally brings his products to the public—a charming touch of eccentricity that is part of his sales strategy. He freely hands out samples of his cigars or spirits in public settings.

The Dominican Republic is home to two of Bossner’s series. With the Classic, Bossner made its debut in the cigar industry with a spectacular start. The opulently designed vitolas are made from Dominican tobaccos wrapped in a Connecticut Shade leaf from the USA. This debut impresses with its delightful cedarwood notes.
The stronger series is the Maduro. Like the Classic, it is flawlessly crafted, beginning with woody spice. Floral and earthy notes give way to roasted aromas as the cigar progresses. Its rich flavor and medium strength make this series highly popular.
Diversity from Central America
The Bossner Reserva stands out with its dark wrapper. The shiny Maduro wrapper, sourced from Ecuador, adds unique complexity to this Nicaraguan cigar. A premium product, the Caesar Special Edition is not cheap but ranks among the most intriguing cigars from Bossner.

The portfolio’s entry-level price point is the Bossner Black Edition. If you’re undecided among the four formats in the series, try the Sampler!
Cigars According to Jewish Laws: Bossner Kosher
The Baron had a unique idea with his kosher line. This might seem unusual at first, as religious dietary laws typically apply to food and its production. However, the Torah does not mention tobacco consumption.
Like wine, cigars require certain considerations to ensure their enjoyment is permissible for devout Jews. A rabbi oversees compliance with kosher rules, inspecting the tobacco farm and being present during the rolling of the kosher batch. The entire production process, from cultivation to manufacturing, follows Jewish guidelines. The result is a certificate that certifies the formats in the series—all of which are also part of Bossner’s regular product range—as kosher.
