Cornelius & Anthony Cigars – The Hipsters of the Industry
If there were an industry award for the trendiest cigar brand, Cornelius & Anthony would certainly be among the nominees. This American label not only produces exceptional quality and boasts a modern image, but it also has over a century and a half of tobacco tradition. And we say with pride that you can find these cigars exclusively with us in Germany.
Though the brand itself was established in the 1990s, its roots run much deeper. Tobacco cultivation began in Virginia in the early 19th century. By the 1860s, as historical records confirm, the Bailey family was already involved in the trade. Cornelius was the first known family member in the business—hence the name.
Longfiller Cigars by Cornelius & Anthony
The second part of the name comes from the middle name of the current owner, Stephen Anthony Bailey. Initially, he focused on premium cigars made from his own tobacco, a strategy that continues to be highly successful in the U.S.
However, Longfiller cigars from Latin America have also become a significant part of Cornelius & Anthony’s portfolio. Initially crafted at PDR by Abe Flores—where renowned brands like Gurkha, Flores y Rodriguez, Kristoff, and La Palina are also produced—the brand has since moved its production to Tabacalera La Zona, owned by Eddie Espinosa in Nicaragua. This is where the series available in our selection are crafted.
The Complete Cornelius & Anthony Collection
The Meridian offers a woody, spicy profile with creamy undertones. Beneath its Ecuadorian wrapper lies a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos sourced from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Daddy Mac, blended by Stephen in honor of his father, leans towards a sweeter profile, thanks to its Brazilian wrapper. The newest and boldest of our three featured lines is the Venganza, which, fittingly, translates to "Revenge" in Spanish. We'll leave that interpretation up to you. The filler and binder are both Nicaraguan, while the Ecuadorian wrapper adds an extra punch to the experience.
