El Septimo Luxus (10 Year Tobacco)
The name of this luxury cigar brand has different meanings. In general, El Septimo can be translated as “the Seventh.” The cigar manufacturer explains this, among other things, with reference to the biblical creation story: after six strenuous days, God is known to have rested on the seventh day from the work of creation. With the help of these cigars, the aficionado is likewise meant to rest and, in doing so, “enjoy his work.”
El Septimo Cigars: The Art of Rest and Enjoyment Inspired by the Creation Story
Today, the cigar brand is headquartered in Geneva and was founded in 2005 by Gilles Botquin. Initially, these ultra-premium cigars were available mainly on the European market; since 2019, the US market has also been developed. This is likely connected to the fact that the brand was acquired in 2019 by US real estate mogul Zaya S. Younan. He amassed his fortune in the real estate sector in the 2000s. As a passionate cigar smoker, he aims to offer all aficionados El Septimos as the “pinnacle of perfection” in cigar production with “his” cigars from Costa Rica.
From the Highlands of Costa Rica to the World: The Extraordinary Journey of El Septimo Cigars
The longfillers are rolled in Costa Rica exclusively with local tobaccos. These are aged for a minimum of five and a maximum of fifteen years before being made into cigars. According to the manufacturer, the plants grow at an altitude of over 2,000 meters near the capital, San José. We have listed the detailed specifications of each vitola on the respective product detail page. You can find all El Septimo cigars available from us—and thus in Germany—via the link above.
