Vegas de Santiago Axel Schulz
Those among us who are a bit older will still remember the name Axel Schulz fondly. He boxed very successfully as a professional in the 1990s, until he was knocked out in September 1999 by none other than Wladimir Klitschko. A comeback attempt in 2006 was unfortunately unsuccessful, and since then he has been active as a TV host and entrepreneur.
Axel Schulz Cigars: A Harmonious Creation of the Former Professional Boxer
The father of two daughters has long been a passionate cigar smoker and approached us in 2018 to ask whether we could assist him in possibly creating a cigar line under his name. We put him in touch with several manufacturers, and in the end he chose the Tabacalera Vegas de Santiago by Marc Niehaus in Costa Rica. Various series are produced there, including the very successful and popular Vegas de Santiago D8 Cigars. Anyone who knows Marc is aware that this is not just any run-of-the-mill marketing cigar, but a solid product at a fair price. In numerous tastings, the blend has repeatedly proven itself and performed extremely well.
Discover the Unique Character of the Axel Schulz Cigar
These are harmonious and uncomplicated cigars that impress with a certain “drinkability” and a natural sweetness. An Ecuadorian leaf is used for both the wrapper and the binder, while the filler blend consists of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. Axel personally selected the two vitolas and also placed special emphasis on small pack sizes that are practical and easy to take along.
