Vegas de Santiago D8

This truly boutique brand consists of cigars from Costa Rica and was initiated by a Swiss family that emigrated there. Vegas de Santiago D8 is produced with a blend of Caribbean tobaccos: the Ligero comes from the Dominican Republic, while Viso and Seco are sourced from Peru and Costa Rica. The binder is a Criollo from Ecuador, finished with an Ecuadorian H-2000 wrapper. All tobaccos used are aged for at least three years before being processed. The Niehaus family cooperates locally with the Olman Leon Guzman family, with the Guzmans overseeing cultivation and production, while Marc Niehaus and his team manage packaging, marketing, and international distribution.

Vegas de Santiago Cigars: Unique Flavors from Costa Rica

Marc Niehaus and his father Rudy Niehaus (who sadly passed away in 2015) produce finely crafted cigars that release lightly creamy cedarwood and coffee notes. The number 8 stands for luck, prosperity, and sharing; it impresses with a balanced aromatic bouquet of refined coffee, leather, cedar, and nut notes. A delicate sweetness combined with nuances of black pepper, paired with a smooth, creamy smoke, rounds out the D8’s enjoyment. The hint of pepper also makes this otherwise quite mild cigar appealing to more experienced aficionados.

Discover the Craftsmanship Behind the Vegas de Santiago Cigars

In autumn 2014, we personally imported a larger batch of these highly interesting cigars, as this small but fine tabacalera had not yet had a distributor in Germany. We decided to order the cigars in bundles and in larger quantities to reduce the German retail price. This worked quite noticeably; the vitolas became around 20% cheaper than those previously available in Germany. The new formats were, of course, calculated particularly tightly and attractively priced from the outset. Since 2016, these distinctive boutique cigars have been distributed by Casagrande Cigars. Here you will find an overview of all Vegas de Santiago cigars distributed in Germany.
