ADV The Explorer
The cigar brand The Explorer was the first of numerous cigar lines launched by Swiss native Marcel Knobel under the brand name ADVentura Cigars. Marcel has been active in the cigar industry for quite some time, runs an online shop in Switzerland, and has also initiated various projects centered around cigars under the name Kuba d’Oro – Fine Artisanal Cigars.
Cigars from Adventura: Marcel Knobel’s Swiss Masterpiece
The cigars from Adventura are essentially his own brand, which he selectively distributes in Switzerland through other retailers and, since autumn 2018, also in Germany via the distributor PasionPuro. Initially, three lines were introduced: The Explorer, The Conqueror, and El Loco. The line presented here originally consisted of three vitolas, but has since expanded significantly. The series name represents the journey of discovery of flavors and aromas that the aficionado embarks on when lighting a cigar. Marcel’s guiding principle is: “Flavor first – Label second.” With this, he emphasizes that enjoyment is his top priority. The goal is to create complex and flavorful cigars that offer the connoisseur multi-layered and complex bouquets. The cigars are produced at Tabacalera Henderson Ventura in the Dominican Republic. The tobaccos used are aged between five and seven years, and the finished cigars are aged for an additional at least six months. Here you will find an overview of all cigars from ADV Cigars & McKay available in Germany.
Cigars from ADV Cigars & Mc Kay: Flavor, Aroma, and Tradition
The vitolas presented here are crafted with a Mexican wrapper Criollo 98, a Sumatra binder from Ecuador, and a filler blend of Dominican and Ecuadorian tobaccos. The wrapper gives the cigar its delicate dark chocolate aroma. This is complemented by hints of leather and wood. In our initial tastings, this blend impressed with a pleasant spice and a light, woody sweetness.
