ADV The Royal Return
After many cigar series from this manufacturer have so far revolved around the theme of discovering the “New World” as the home of tobacco and the cigars we all love, these cigars, introduced in October 2020, focus on the fruits, harvest, or the “spoils” that were brought back home from these beautiful lands. Around 500 years ago, explorers and adventurers typically returned with gold, silver, and jewels to the European royal courts. In this sense, the pearls for the queen and the gold for the king symbolically represent the treasures that have now once again made their way from the Caribbean and South America to Europe. I just hope this doesn’t spark a “politically correct sh... storm” condemning the exploitation of the colonies at the time...!

So then, what do we have here? Let’s start—ladies first—with the ladies: the Queen's Pearls Robusto is rolled with a Connecticut Shade wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder. The filler blend is a mélange of Dominican, Ecuadorian, and Nicaraguan tobaccos. Marcel Knobel, initiator and founder of ADV & McKay Zigarren, aimed here to create a mild and approachable cigar. The King's Gold Robusto cigar is, naturally (are we still allowed to say that?), blended to be significantly stronger. The Broadleaf wrapper lives up to its name and delivers a much stronger “kick” than its female counterpart.

Both vitolas are made from tobaccos that have undergone at least 5 years of aging and, after rolling, were stored for at least four additional months before being released for sale. Due to the limited availability of the tobaccos, these two vitolas are part of the standard production but will likely only be available in limited quantities. Here you can find all cigars from ADV Cigars & McKay.
