AVO Heritage

These cigars were originally introduced at the US tobacco trade show IPCPR in 2010. To date, they are the strongest cigars bearing the name of the famous jazz pianist and composer Avo Uvezian. The collaboration between him and Hendrik Kelner resulted in a very finely balanced, medium-bodied cigar offered in five different vitolas. Although Avo—who sadly passed away on March 27, 2017, at the remarkable age of 91—and Hendrik are no longer actively involved in these cigars, they continue to be sold with the identical blend.

Avo Uvezian Cigars: The Powerful Series from a Jazz Legend

The comparatively high proportion of Ligero tobaccos used in Avo cigars creates a distinctive and unmistakable character. Initially leaning toward the typical Davidoff “floral-herbal” profile, these cigars become more earthy and woody as the smoke progresses. Although they are the strongest cigars bearing this name, we would classify them as no more than medium-bodied.

The Development of Avo Uvezian Cigars: From Classic to Limited Editions

In addition to the Classic, Domaine, and Heritage lines, he released at least one limited edition each year together with his production and distribution partner Oettinger Davidoff, which typically sold out quickly every time. Avo was born in 1926 and was originally from Lebanon. The last limited edition bearing his respective birthday on the cigar band was the 88, which was introduced in 2014.
