AVO Classic

Avo Uvezian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1926 and passed away on March 24, 2017. The charismatic jazz musician of American-Armenian heritage decided in the mid-80s to create his own cigar series. The cigars have been produced by Hendrik Kelner, the manufacturer of other renowned brands like Davidoff and Zino, ever since. In the late 90s, Avo sold his brand rights to Davidoff/Oettinger, but he continued to serve as a brand ambassador for the cigar series named after him worldwide.

The cigars of this AVO Classic line embody Avo Uvezian's philosophy of "Cigars in Perfect Harmony" in an incomparable way. They pay homage to the cigar composition that Avo Uvezian celebrated as a successful cigar composer in the "New World" in 1988.

The four selected classic formats, No. 2, No. 5, No. 9, and Robusto, are characterized by a particularly harmonious blend of tobacco, delivering a mild yet finely spicy flavor. Avo Uvezian attributed this to the Connecticut wrapper and the many years of aging the filler. He described the new series as such. As he confirmed, the AVO Classic cigars offer both loyal aficionados and newcomers an unforgettable smoking experience.

The No. 2, a stately Toro format with a voluminous 50-ring gauge, is surpassed in length by the slightly slimmer Grand Corona format of the No. 5. The No. 9 is a Corona Extra format, with the addition of "Extra" indicating a slightly larger ring gauge. Finally, the AVO Quartet is completed with the Robusto.
