Gurkha Evil

There is no need to say much more about the Gurkha cigars. The founder of the Gurkha cigar brand, Kaizad Hansotia, acquired the brand name in the late 1980s and has since built a stylish, exciting, and visually outstanding brand. Today, there is a wide range of different lines, primarily rolled in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Some aficionados may find the boxes a little too extravagant, but we do not see that as much of an issue—you can simply look past it!

Gurkha Evil: a Powerful Blend for Experienced Aficionados

The Gurkha Evil cigars feature a Brazilian wrapper, more specifically a shade-grown Mata Fina. A leaf from the Dominican Republic is used as the binder, while the filler tobaccos all come from Nicaragua. The shade-grown Brazilian wrapper is certainly the most distinctive feature of this blend, as this variety is typically grown in full sun, resulting in a much darker color.

The Fascination of Gurkha Evil Cigars: Uniqueness in Every Draw

Despite their somewhat lighter color, these cigars are not for beginners. They start out with considerable strength and at times reminded us of the blends created by Tatuaje cigars by Pete Johnson: coffee, toast, wood, and pepper. As the smoke progresses, however, they become a little milder, with the initial intensity giving way to refined woody and peppery notes. At present, availability of these cigars is somewhat limited, which may also be related to the change in distributor. From summer 2015 until 2025, the company Kleinlagel from Bruchsal distributed these distinctive cigars. Distribution has since been taken over by GRE Cigars. Numerous additional lines have also been introduced. The cigars presented here have now been discontinued by the brand owner, so we are only selling the remaining stock.
