La Aurora 1495 Series

It's the oldest Tabacalera in the Dominican Republic - cigar history has been written here since 1903. This series commemorates the discovery of the island of Hispaniola in 1495 by Columbus, who subsequently founded the city of Santiago de los Caballeros.

Cigar Master José Blanco blended the La Aurora 1495 with a sun-grown Sumatra tobacco from Ecuador for the wrapper. For the binder, he used a Mata Fina from Brazil, and finally, in the filler, he assembled a very unusual blend of four different tobaccos. The filler includes Dominican tobacco from the Cibao Valley, as well as Peruvian, Brazilian, and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos.

The 1495 Series cigars by La Aurora are complex and robust. Initially dominated by black pepper, the smoking experience evolves into a distinct woody character that culminates in an even creamy finish. Along the way, accompanying notes of cinnamon, nuts, and citrus fruits are discernible. In tastings, the 1495 has been referred to as the successor to the legendary 100 Anos anniversary series. The renowned Cigar Review awarded it an impressive 93 points.
