La Aurora Principes Claro

These affordable cigars from the highly renowned La Aurora brand are handcrafted as long fillers ("hecho a mano") in the Dominican Republic. Just like the luxury Preferidos cigars from the same Tabacalera, this one also guarantees an excellent selection of the raw tobaccos used. The Leon family, as the owners of the factory, claims to run the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic.

Both the filler and the binder are composed of 100% Dominican tobaccos. This blend, combined with the delicate Connecticut wrapper from South American Ecuador, gives the cigars an elegant, very light color and imparts a slightly sweet note to the smoke. Considering the prices at which they are offered, it's almost hard to believe! Initially introduced in 12 bundles, they are now available in solid 25-count wooden boxes and cellophane-wrapped 10-count bundles.

In addition to this lighter, milder variant, there's also a line called Principes Maduro with a dark, longer-aged wrapper. This one is a bit more robust and slightly sweeter than the Claro series. Here, you can find a comprehensive overview of all the cigars manufactured by Tabacalera La Aurora.
