La Aurora Principes MADURO

These affordable Maduro cigars from the La Aurora house are handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, in Santiago de los Caballeros, as long-fillers. Just like the "regular" light Preferidos Claro from the same house, Tabacalera ensures an excellent selection of the raw tobaccos used. The Léon family owns the factory and claims that La Aurora is the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic.

The filler is composed entirely of Dominican tobaccos. This blend, wrapped with an Indonesian binder and combined with the dark Maduro wrapper, imparts an oily, dark color to the cigars and brings a sweet note to the smoke. When you see the prices at which these cigars are sold, it can truly leave you speechless! Originally introduced only in bundles of 12, they are currently sold in hefty 25-count wooden boxes and additionally in 10-count bundles wrapped in cellophane.

In addition to this darker, sweeter variant, there is also a line called Principes Claro with a light Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador. This one is somewhat milder and a bit less sweet than the Maduro series.
