Laura Chavin Pur Sang

The cigars with the melodious name "Pur Sang" by Laura Chavin represent a complex richness and density in the smoke, offering the aficionado a great deal of refined elegance up to the final third. The name means "thoroughbred" in French, literally translated as "pure blood."

The taste of these cigars is as unmistakably distinctive as the quality of the tobaccos from which they are made. Among other things, they include perfectly matured Coronablätter leaves from the top of the tobacco plant, which are only picked when they have been dried by the sun and have turned nearly pitch black. This principle is also applied to the Cohiba Behike BHK, for example, imparting a noticeably strong character to the cigars accompanied by a very broad flavor profile. Pur Sang represents applied smoking culture, an experience of exceptionally sensual depth.

In addition to these thoroughbred cigars, we naturally also offer the entire other portfolio of Laura Chavin cigars. By the way, Helmut's daughter was the inspiration for the brand's name and, contrary to popular belief, it's pronounced "shah-veen" rather than in the French manner "sha-vah."

Since 2015, Helmut Bührle's cigars have no longer been produced at the Tabacalera de Garcia, but rather in an unspecified "new" factory that Mr. Bührle purchased or established in the Dominican Republic. The bands and blends have remained the same, with only the slightly darker color of the boxes indicating the different place of production.
