Macanudo Inspirado Green
The cigar series under the name Macanudo Inspirado were originally produced exclusively for the European market. In the summer of 2014, the first line, Macanudo Inspirado Orange, was introduced.
- In the fall of 2015, the Macanudo Inspirado Black cigar followed.
- In May 2018, we received the mildest of the four series, the Macanudo Inspirado White.
- In May 2019, the boldest Macanudo Inspirado RED from Nicaragua was introduced.
The Macanudo Inspirado Green are also long-filler cigars, handcrafted in the General Cigar Dominicana factory in the Dominican Republic. These are premium cigars that use Brazilian tobaccos for the first time in the Macanudo Inspirado series. The wrapper is Brazilian Arapiraca, the binder is Indonesian, and the filler blend is a hearty combination of Colombian and Dominican tobaccos.
In terms of flavor, the green Inspirado cigars offer quite a bit. They start out woody and rich with slightly sweet notes. Even in the retro-nasal aspect, these cigars are not pepper bombs, but rather lean towards the milder side. Overall, the cigars remain medium-bodied without becoming overpowering. Not for beginners, but not heavyweight either. Woody and earthy without pepper is the quickest description!
The origins of the Macanudo brand go far back. General Cigar acquired the brand in 1968 and moved production from Jamaica to the Dominican Republic. At one point, Macanudo became the best-selling cigar in the USA. The "classic" series are the very mild Macanudo Café cigars.
