PDR Capa Madura

Abe Flores and his PDR Cigar Factory have achieved incredible things in recent years and gained much attention in the cigar industry. He produces several series for La Palina and Gurkha, among others. Additionally, he produces the new series of Kristoff Galerones, which have also been very well received. The PDR 1878 Capa Madura C. Especial is known in the USA as Capa Madura Cubano Especial but cannot be offered in Europe under that name due to trademark reasons. The abbreviation was the simplest solution to this problem, even if it may look a bit strange.

The filler consists of Nicaraguan and Dominican Visos, Secos, and Ligeros. For the binder, Abe uses a Criollo 98 from the Dominican Republic that adds some spice without making the smoking experience too robust. Flores uses an oily Arapiraca Maduro wrapper from Brazil that adds a slightly sweet kick.

Overall, this cigar is medium-bodied with a distinct creaminess; woody and floral aromas play a significant role in its character. Additionally, it features a "pigtail," meaning the head of the cigar is artistically twisted into a little tail. Besides this variant, the small 1975 Gran Reserva 2006 Half Corona in the very attractive 5-pack tin is definitely worth a try!
