The JFR Connecticut cigars were the first of the three JFR lines to reach us in the summer of 2025. The Aganorsa JFR Corojo cigars presented here, along with the JFR Maduro, arrived for the first time in the summer of 2026. Naturally, the former are the mildest of the three, with the Corojos occupying the earthy, fuller-bodied middle ground and the Maduros representing the aromatic, sweet-leaning and darkest expression of the line.

They are aimed at aficionados who appreciate the classic character of robust Nicaraguan cigars without sacrificing balance. Compared to the milder Connecticut and the darker Maduro, the Corojo line delivers a profile that is spicier, earthier, and more distinctive. Notes of cedarwood, roasted nuts, pepper, and a subtle sweetness accompany the smoker from the first draw through to the finish. The signature Corojo wrapper, sourced from Nicaragua just like the binder and filler, adds further complexity and creates a characterful yet harmonious smoking experience.

Aganorsa Leaf – Tobacco Craftsmanship with a Caribbean Soul

Behind the brand stands Cuban-born entrepreneur Eduardo Fernandez Pujals, who discovered his passion for tobacco after the successful stock market flotation of his company Telepizza in Spain. Under the name Agricola Norteña S.A., better known as Aganorsa Leaf, he began cultivating premium tobaccos in Nicaragua in 1997, following Caribbean traditions. Today, his tobaccos form the backbone of numerous renowned brands such as Warped cigars, Viaje cigars, and the Illusione cigars by Don Giulito, which are not available in Germany. Handcrafted longfiller cigars have since been produced at his Tabacalera TABSA, combining tradition, innovation, and passion. During the 2010s, Aganorsa became something of a holy grail among tobacco retailers and built an outstanding reputation. It was only a natural progression that Eduardo eventually began producing cigars under his own name. Since their introduction to the German market in 2023 by Kopp Tobacco, Aganorsa cigars have sold extremely well and continue to grow in popularity. Incidentally, the abbreviation JFR stands for “Just for Retailers”, meaning that this series is not sold to online retailers in the United States. Since online retailers in the U.S. often offer significant discounts, some manufacturers create special lines that are available exclusively through brick-and-mortar retailers in order to avoid price competition on those products.

JFR Corojo: Spicy Nicaragua Puros with Outstanding Value

For the JFR Corojo, Aganorsa uses exclusively tobacco grown on its own farms. The distinctive pigtail cap and closed foot further enhance the line’s recognisable appearance. At its German launch in the summer of 2026, only the Robusto vitola was introduced.
