Condega Kraken

The cigars from Kraken are part of the cigar portfolio originally imported from Nicaragua by Thorsten Wolfertz. Since early 2023, following the sale of his company to another family-owned business from Belgium called VCF (Vandermarliere Cigar Family), these cigars have been managed by VCF. They are in very good hands, as VCF also distributes Oliva Cigars, cigars from Plasencia and AJ Fernandez in Germany.

Kraken Cigars from the TABSA Factory in Nicaragua

Alongside the cigars from Condega and Umnum Cigars, the Kraken Cigars featured here are also made at the TABSA factory (Tabacos del Valle de Jalapa S.A.), also known as Casa Fernandez. It is the manufacturing arm of AGANORSA, the legendary tobacco-growing company that has built an outstanding reputation with its Corojo 99. Eduardo Fernández founded AGANORSA in Esteli, Nicaragua, in 1997 and expanded the company by adding a cigar factory in 2002.

Large Ring Gauges, Nicaraguan Sungrown Tobacco and Distinctive Tin Packaging

Kraken Cigars certainly stand out thanks to their imposing ring gauges and dimensions! The wrapper is a Sungrown tobacco from Nicaragua, while the binder is an Indonesia. The filler blend comes 100% from Nicaragua. Two vitolas are currently still available. All cigars come in tins of 8, where they are packed standing upright. Apparently, Eduardo somehow struck a deal with the rum producer of the same name: this rum from Trinidad & Tobago features the same logo and also has a Kraken (yes, THE sea monster) as the logo on the bottle.
