CSC Cigars: Origin and History
For more than 70 years, the family of Laith Haddad has been involved in cigars. This close connection shows that the Cigar Company, as the label was originally known, is far more than just another project. Laith continues a long-established tradition. What he began in L.A. was later carried forward in Germany by Michael Sprick. Based in Pforzheim, he established the Cigar Seed Company brand, now known simply as CSC. He imports the cigars directly from Nicaragua and distributes them through specialist retailers across Germany.
Small Batches from Nicaragua
The focus is firmly on small-batch production. CSC does not produce mass-market cigars, limiting production runs to no more than 5,000 cigars. Michael Sprick remains discreet about the details of his blends, and he also keeps the identity of the factory confidential. While this may be part of the brand's mystique, it certainly makes the cigars even more intriguing.
Fire Oak and Matured Flavors
Depending on the line, the cigars offer varying levels of strength while maintaining a balanced profile. The Fire Oak range focuses on darker, more mature impressions, with notes reminiscent of wood, cocoa, subtle sweetness, and barrel-aged nuances. For enthusiasts who enjoy Nicaraguan cigars but do not always seek a full-bodied smoke, this approach is ideal. The series retains its exceptional craftsmanship while offering greater everyday appeal.
The aging process is equally noteworthy. Fire Oak undergoes a minimum of seven years of post-roll aging, a crucial factor in shaping the cigar’s character. Aging does not automatically reduce the strength of a blend, but it smooths rough edges, integrates individual flavors, and often results in a more refined smoking experience.
