Casdagli D`Boiss

These cigars are named after an exclusive cigar lounge located in the historic old town of Tallinn, Estonia. Founded by Luke Dobbs, it has developed into a real hotspot in the Baltic country with its 5 bars and the barber shop. Through his close personal relationship with Jeremy Casdagli, founder and owner of Casdagli Cigars, the idea was born to set up a Casdagli Cigar Lounge within the club. Since then, Jeremy’s cigars have enjoyed a prominent placement here, and he himself is frequently on site for events, as he found the love of his life in Estonia and lives there with his family.

The two vitolas of D'Boiss Cigars are produced by IGM Cigars in Costa Rica, who also manufacture, among others, El Septimo Cigars as well as the Daughter of the Wind Cigars by Jeremy. An Ecuadorian tobacco was chosen as the wrapper, while the filler and the binder come from Costa Rica. I am always a little cautious with such statements, but the two tried to blend these cigars in a “Cuban-style” manner. This was certainly an important factor, not least due to the supply issues affecting Cuban cigars. Here in the Cigarworld Lounge as well, we are repeatedly asked what might be an alternative that goes at least “roughly” in that same flavor direction.

D'Boiss Cigars: Exclusive Blends From the Casdagli Cigar Lounge

The two sought to combine, through the use of very rare tobaccos, sweet honey-like aromas with a subtle spiciness. While writing this text, I treated myself to the D'Boiss DB 52, a slightly shorter Robusto with a very firm feel – a lot of tobacco has gone into it. It is always difficult to describe: the first draws are “delicate” and lightly characterized by floral-herbal notes; the opening is great fun right from the start. Throughout the entire smoking experience, it remains rather mild and restrained, with no trace of pepper or other sharpness. Overall, very harmonious and “rounded” – once again a very fine blend from Jeremy. In my estimation, this could just as well have been a blend by Henke Kelner!

Exclusive Cigars From Tallinn: D'Boiss by Casdagli and IGM Cigars

Overall, we are time and again very impressed by how subtle and complex the Casdagli Cigars taste. The Dominican variants are produced by Henke Kelner Jr. at his Tabacalera KBF, which is also responsible for the outstanding Principle Cigars.
