EPC Cabinet

Ernesto is particularly known for his time at General Cigar, where he created and produced the American La Gloria Cubana, which is still known by us today as El Credito. He is also often referred to as the "Godfather of Boutique Cigars." After his departure from General Cigars, he started anew with his two children and founded EPC Cigars, with the abbreviation standing for his name.

In February 2015, we were with the German importer Thorsten Wolfertz at Ernesto's in Miami and had the chance to try his latest creations. Both the New Wave and Cabinet series impressed us so much that we wanted to have both for our business. Thorsten has now included the New Wave in the "regular" lineup, while the Cabinet series, being somewhat more unique and robust, is currently exclusively available from us!

The wrapper of the cigars in the Cabinet series is a Corojo '99 Hybrid from Ecuador. For the binder, Ernesto uses a matured leaf from the Dominican Republic. The filler is entirely composed of Nicaraguan Longfiller tobaccos.

Intense flavors of wood and pepper dominate the profile. Additionally, nutty notes with a subtle sweetness are discernible. Overall, these are quite robust cigars, rolled in the family-owned Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic.
