EPC La Historia

The cigar series La Historia by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo is a tribute to his family, to all family members who have contributed to advancing the family business over the past decades. Interestingly, he was born in 1951 in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba, where he was essentially born into the world of tobacco. After emigrating from the island, he began his career in the 1990s with his own company, El Credito Cigar Company, which he then sold to the Swedish Match corporation in the early 2000s. He remained loyal to the corporation as a Master Blender until 2009, at which point he founded EPC Cigar Co. with his son and daughter, and they have been very successful to this day. Ernesto is also known as "The Godfather of Boutique Cigars," and he was responsible for brands like the Dominican La Gloria Cubana, known as El Credito in Europe.

The La Historia was introduced at the IPCPR in Las Vegas in 2014 and later launched in Germany in the fall of the same year. The wrapper is a very dark Mexican San Andres, fermented to a Maduro stage. The binder is a Sumatra tobacco grown in Ecuador. The filler is a hearty blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The cigars have a robust and full-bodied flavor profile - initially, pepper, cocoa, and chocolate dominate the flavors.

Especially noteworthy are the two strikingly beautiful and elaborately made cigar bands that add an additional touch of elegance to the cigar with their bright blue-red combination. Packaged in sturdy 10-count wooden boxes, these three vitolas will undoubtedly find their fans in Germany.
