EPC Encore

The special thing about this series is certainly, on the one hand, that it's the first one from Ernesto that has been entirely crafted from Nicaraguan tobaccos. On the other hand, equally noteworthy is that the Encore Majestic in the Robusto format was chosen as the Cigar of the Year 2018 by the US magazine Cigar Aficionado!
The word "Encore" comes from French and means "more." In English, and that's what matters here, it's used as an expression for "encore" during concerts. Since Ernesto used to be involved in music as well, he chose this term as the EPC Encore is, in a way, the continuation of the EPC La Historia, which was introduced in the US and with us in 2014. The cigar band is reminiscent of the bands of La Historia, only the color has been changed to a slightly reddish, bronze tone. According to his statement, the four formats represent his four grandchildren, the first one must have been a boy...! ;-)
The Encore cigar was first distributed as a test sample at the IPCPR 2016. However, Ernesto decided to let the wrapper leaf mature for about two more years and only release the cigar in 2018 - as you can see, a quite right decision!
According to Ernesto Perez-Carillo, the filler tobaccos come from the renowned Nicaraguan regions of Condega, Jalapa, and Esteli. The binder and wrapper also come from Nicaragua. Cigar Aficionado gave the highest rating because, in their opinion, it showcases a very broad flavor palette. Oak, tea, and caramel sweetness are mentioned, which, combined with (partially candied) citrus notes, promise an elegant, delicate, and balanced smoking experience.
Give it a try! Ultimately, it doesn't matter what journalists have written about these cigars. They should and must taste good to you: Let only YOUR taste decide. We see these awards as a welcome suggestion to try out cigars that you might not have considered. No more, but also no less.
