EPC Oscuro

This series is another innovation by Ernesto Perez Carillo, introduced at the IPCPR in New Orleans in the summer of 2015. He doesn't really need much of an introduction; as the Master Blender of the highly successful El Credito cigars (known as La Gloria Cubana in the USA), he had already made an excellent name for himself in the 1990s. After selling his company and cigar brand to the giant STG, it took a few years before he reappeared in the cigar industry, but when he returned, he did so with a bang.

In 2009, he founded the company EPC Cigars together with his two children, and just six years later, he already has an impressive portfolio of EPC cigars on offer, achieving great success both in the United States and in Europe. The EPC Oscuro presented here is available in the USA in a total of six different vitolas. The German importer, Thorsten Wolfertz, has chosen two of them for now - we're just glad to see more EPC cigars making their way to Germany!

The wrapper is a very dark (oscuro) San Andres from Mexico, wrapped over an Ecuadorian binder and filled exclusively with Nicaraguan tobaccos. These are rather robust cigars that offer a wide range of flavors leaning towards earth, leather, pepper, and wood. As the smoke progresses, a touch of sweetness joins in, but it is very subtly pronounced.
