Gurkha Cask Blend

The Cask Blend cigars are one of three new series introduced at the IPCPR 2015 in New Orleans. The other two have one thing in common: they are made in Nicaragua (the Gurkha Heritage and the Gurkha Cellar Reserve Platinum). These, however, are produced in the Dominican Republic. It appears that Kaizad Hansotia, the Indian-born owner of Gurkha Cigars, not only focused on new releases from Nicaragua this year but also made a brief stop in the Dominican Republic.

We would love to share more details about the Gurkha Cask Blend, but unfortunately the manufacturer remains very discreet, stating only that it is a "proprietary blend." In other words, a protected—or simply secret—blend. According to the manufacturer, the flavor profile features sweet spices and intense woody notes. The packaging is also a real eye-catcher, presented in a massive box of 200 cigars. It is designed to resemble the wooden containers in which the cigars are placed immediately after rolling before being moved to the aging room.

The Grand Robusto format of the Gurkha Cask Blend was first introduced individually in Germany in spring 2016. Before that, it was only available as part of the Gurkha IPCPR 2015 Sampler. We now also exclusively offer the slightly smaller Robusto.
