Eine Offenbarung ! Für Virginia-Puristen einer DER Tabake ! Der Preis der Gawith Tabake ist relativ hoch, aber in diesem Fall ist der Tabak auch jeden Cent wert ! Der einzige Kritikpunkt zeigt sich beim Öffnen der Dose: die Gawith Tabake sind sehr feucht. Also ist Trocknen ein Muß. Ich habe die Flakescheiben einfach beherzt in kleine Cubes geschnitten, dann brennen sie auch relativ feucht sehr gut ab. Denn der Tabak ist sehr dicht gepresst und ich würde die Flakes im frischen Zustand fast als ledrig bezeichnen. Der Geschmack ist an Ehrlichkeit nicht zu überbieten, weshalb einige Leute ihn sicherlich als "unspektakulär" abstempeln würden. Aber für einen Virginia-Liebhaber einfach eine wahre Freude ! Leicht heuig, sehr sanft zur Zunge, süßlich, vollmundig. Schmeckt den ganzen Tag über, von Nikotin habe ich nichts gemerkt. Man kann nicht viele Worte zu diesem Tabak verlieren, aber wenn, dann sind es Worte höchsten Lobes ! DIE Referenz für mich !

Dieser hier ist verglichen mit dem Best Brown derselben Firma oder dem Germain's medium Flake einen Tick kräftiger, besonders das fast farblose Kondensat gefällt. Im Abbrand etwas widerspenstig, aber sollte man, besonders als nicht aromatisierten Tabak, mal probieren. Lecker! Nachtrag: Nachdem ich ein paar Pfeifen von diesem Tabak geraucht habe, behaupte ich jetzt mal ganz frech, dass es sich hier nicht um einen Straight Virginia handelt. Das Plus an Würze gegenüber dem Best Brown ist meiner Meinung nach nicht nur auf Pressung und Reifung zurückzuführen, sondern auf die geringfügige Beimengung von Latakia oder einem ähnlichen Tabak. Also für mich bleibt dann doch der Best Brown die Referenz für Straight Virginias.
