A. Flores Gran Reserva Corojo
The Gran Reserva Corojo 2006 cigars by Abe Flores from his factory PDR (an abbreviation for the Cuban valley Pinar del Río) are now the third line on the German market after two successful releases. As his “Signature Line,” he aims to demonstrate what he and his manufactory can produce as cigar makers and tobacco blenders at the highest level. The wrapper is a very dark Dominican Corojo. The binder also comes from the Dominican Republic, while the filler is a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican Corojo. All cigars are firmly rolled and leave a very high-quality impression. A perfect burn and the beautiful appearance of the chocolatey, oily wrapper make you want more.
Gran Reserva Corojo 2006: Abe Flores' Masterpiece from the PDR Manufactory
The Gran Reserva Corojo 2006 delivers very intense notes of cedar, cocoa, and coffee. In recent years, Abe and his Zabacalera PDR Cigar in Tamboril have become a very “hot” address for excellent and highly popular cigars. A wide range of his PDR cigars is now available in Germany; the link above provides a great overview. In the early 2020s, all his lines underwent a visual relaunch, easily recognizable by the printed parchment paper on the lower part of the cigar. The classic cigars in their original design are still partially available as remaining stock. According to Abe, the blend has remained unchanged—only the appearance has been updated.
Abe Flores' Signature Line: Gran Reserva Corojo 2006 Cigars
In 2015, he entered into an exciting collaboration with Andre Farkas of Viaje Cigars. Under the name Collaboration, the two created a jointly blended cigar that was released in autumn 2015. You can find the collaboration between PDR Cigars and Viaje Cigars here.
