Gurkha Ghost

The history of Gurkha cigars really took off when the founder of this cigar brand, Kaizad Hansotia, purchased cigars of this brand for himself during a vacation on the holiday island of Goa (India) in 1988. The Portuguese sellers eventually sold their entire stock of cigars as well as the brand rights for $143 to Kaizad. From one moment to the next, he had acquired their struggling business and originally only had the idea of giving the cigars as gifts to business partners. However, they quickly took a liking to his gifts, prompting him to consider turning it into a business.

In the early 1990s, most products were not particularly original and were packaged at a "normal" price level. Gurkha went its own way and since then has introduced many highly extraordinary and expensive cigars to the market, which still characterize the brand's glamorous and exclusive touch today.

The wrapper of the Gurkha Ghost is a Brazil Arapiraca, the binder is a Criollo 98 from the Dominican Republic, and the fillers are all from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. These cigars are produced by Abe Flores (PDR, Flores & Rodriguez, La Palina, new Kristoffs). They are relatively similar to PDRs and produce a lot of white smoke (so don't be alarmed when you try them). Chocolate, wood, pepper, and a subtle sweetness define the flavor profile at medium strength - we personally like them very much!
