Humidor Erwin

Combined with a glass of white wine a very nice combination. Not a very special cigar, though. Just nice. Good quality, but since it didn't surprise me with its taste, I don't know if I will buy it again.

Lovely cigar for any time of the day. Had it with a glass of rose champaign, which is a real nice combination. It's not in my humidor yet, as I had only one, but it might very well end up there on a regular basis.

Lovely cigar. Had it with a glass of Ramazotti, but it doesn't need a drink that sweet. Good taste and draw all the way to the end. At this price, it definitely finds it's way into my humidor.

In the afternoon on the terrace with a cafe au lait. An extremely pleasant combination and well up to the high expectations I have from Avo. Absolutely nothing bad (or non positive) to say about this cigar. Nothing extraordinary or special to make you praise it sky-high, but just solid, high-level quality all round.

With a beer on the terrace of our hotel. A lovely mild cigar with all the way to the end good burn and nice delicate taste. Certainly something to do again sometime.

Lovely Sunday afternoon smoke. I started with a Ramazotti to go with it and when I finished that, I continued with a ginger ale. Both went perfect with this smoke. Nice well-balanced taste all the way to the end. Some tiny hints of chocolate at the end of the smoke. No surprising outbursts of taste, no hint of bitterness. Just a great cigar. Love it.

Smoking cigars to me is not just a matter of taste, but a matter of impressions. Hence, a good cigar is not just defined by its taste, but also a lot by the answer to questions like "does it go with this drink?" or "does it give me the pleasure of calming down and relaxing or does it bother me with sharp/extraordinary tastes, bad burn/draw?". With this in mind, I always write something about where/when I smoked a cigar and/or what I had to drink with it. This one was on the first day of our Easter holiday. We had just arrived in Austria, the sun was shining it was nice and we could sit on the terrace. The first beer and the first cigar of the holiday. And it was perfect. Drew Estate delivered as expected with nice taste, perfect draw and a short hour of pure relaxation and pleasure. Definitely a cigar I will smoke again.

Sunshine on the veranda of the riding stables, a coke, a good book and this cigar. A lovely combination. The Undercrown Gran Toro is not a very complex cigar in taste, but exactly right for this occasion and combination. When due to some minor problems at the stables, I had to lie her down for a couple of minutes, I was surprised to find her still slowly burning wonderfully evenly, giving full tasting smoke at the first draw. A perfectly made cigar with a lovely madero wrapper. Will have to order more.

My first cigar in 2014 on a cool but very pleasant early spring evening (actually the 20th of March and 15 degrees C). With a glass of red wine, to come down from a day of hard work. Excellent smoke. At this particular time maybe a bit strong for what I was hoping for, but a lovely cigar which will have followers in my humidor. Update from June 1st, 2014: Had another one with a glass of white whine and I still find it an excellent quality product, but a bit too earthy/peppery for my taste. A bit too "dry" in taste. Maybe I should try it with something sweeter to drink, such as Amaretto (maybe with a coffee and Amaretto). But there are so many other good cigars that it might take a while before I try that.

Wonderful mild and tasty cigar. I had it with a planters punch, which is a great combination. But I guess it will do well with something a bit stronger as well. The first 2cm it didn't draw too well, but nothing to worry about. Certainly a cigar to remember.

No, not mine. It went out in no time, so I had to keep drawing to stay from lighting it over and over again. Strong taste, nothing like the light sweetness one expects from Maduro cigars with a normal inlay. I put away the last third because it gave me problems with my blood circulation.

Interesting to see how different tastes are. Some people tested cream, some even some sweetness. I didn't. Got this cigar as a present and it is a good smoke. Middle strength, bit earthy to my taste. Had it with a cup of strong cappuccino and that is not my favorite drink for this cigar. I think a glass of sherry would go well with it. It's not really my favorite cigar and I'm not likely to buy it. Like I said, it's good, but I somehow miss the "wow, this is nice" experience.

Good cigar, but like the end of the world last year, nothing really spectacular.

I expected the Juicy Lucy in big, and that's basically what I got. And I love it. First of all, for anyone who doesn't like cigars with aroma added and anyone who doesn't like sweet cigars: Stay Away!!! Drew Estate adds a lot of sweetness to these cigars and unless you have a taste like mine, you won't like them. For those who do have a taste for something sweet every now an then, you'll love these. The cigars from Drew Estate tend to be very well made, good drawers, nice smoke. And that goes for this one too. The nice, rather mild, taste of the tobacco, in combination with the sweetness of the aroma is brilliant. The last third of the cigar has a peppery taste which makes this an interesting smoke all the ways. I like to smoke cigars and drink sweet drinks to go with it. Like Cola, sherry, Amaretto, stuff like that. But that would be a disaster with this smoke. This is absolutely perfect with a nice strong cup of coffee.
