I will leave my previous comment on this cigar below, for readers who are interested. I just had my second one of these cigars, and what a disappointment. Flat taste (had it with a beer), hardly any smoke, bad burn. I noticed this before with Trinidad. It seems like something has changed and quality control is not what it used to be. Because cigars like this one I just had are so hopelessly overpriced that I'm not willing to take the risk another time to spend so much money on such a bad cigar. As a result, this one will definitely not find its way back into my humidor. . ...................................................................... And here's my previous comment. . For me a total surprise and an absolutely brilliant cigar. A wonderful light, somewhat sweet, taste with hints of fruit, chocolate and coffee. I like combining cigars with mostly sweet drinks because that goes well with the usually earthy, wood taste. But this cigar doesn't need any drinks at all. just the cigar and a bit of time to relax and enjoy it is all you need. Unfortunately, it has a Trinidad price tag.

I'm a Macanudo fan. But cigars like this (and other Avo I smoked) simply force me to say: I'm also an Avo fan! A brilliant cigar. At first, the most "eye catching" taste is pepper. But the pepper fades away after a while and wood, some grassy and very light fruity notes take over. I had this cigar with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. A very fine combination. Which, from someone who usually prefers to smoke his cigars with sweeter drinks, is a compliment. Burns good, nice amount of smoke. Just a pleasure. Yep, I'm an Avo fan.

Lovely mild cigar which stays mild all the way. Very light earthy notes and a tiny bit of sweetness. I think The Griffin's are cigars with a constant high quality. At least, I have never had a bad one. In that, it is a very "reliable" cigar. Take a Griffin and you always know what you get in terms of taste and quality.

Typical Macanudo. Splendid quality, good taste. For me, still the most reliable brand for constant high quality. As to my personal taste, I combined it with a Bacardi cola. I love non-sweet cigars in combination with sweet drinks. This wonderful Macanudo is to me a cigar one can smoke every time of the day. And I'm definitely not someone who likes the taste of smoke early on the day, so that's quite a compliment.

enjoyed it with a good glass of red wine. A lovely cigar which burns very well and draws very good. Nice, slightly wooden and earthy taste. Maybe a bit "dry" in combination with the red wine, but overall just a fantastic cigar to enjoy one of the warm summer nights we currently have.

A wonderful surprise. I hardly ever smoked Robusto, until i bought the Upmann humidor which contains 6 Robustos. To have something to refill that travel humidor with, I bought these Padilla. And they are lovely. I personally prefer cigars that have a mild taste and a little sweetness in them, which is why I like to smoke somewhat earthier or peppery cigars when I drink cola. I like that combination of taste. And these little babies go wonderful with a glass of coke.

What a disaster! I love Trinidad, but this one isn't worth even lighting it. After about an inch and a half of sucking like a mad prostitute, I decided to throw it away and light something good (Macanudo Vintage 2000 II)

Real nice cigars, lovely travel humidor. All in all a package that is real value for money. The cigars are lovely mild, a little sweetness, some coffee and toast. I had it with two cups of cappuccino, which is normally not my preferred drink with cigars, but it worked really well. I had to re-light the wrapper once as the cigar started to burn on the inside, but that was all. Good quality, super smoke and for the price with the humidor a bargain.

For me, the ultimate cigarillo. I'm not much of a cigarillo smoker, usually find them too sharp in taste probably due to their small size. But these Macanudos are an absolute delight to smoke when there's no time to sit down and relax with a "real" cigar. Go with everything, from sparkling water to a good brandy (no, I never tried that. when I have time for a brandy, I also have time for a full-sized cigar)

absolutely lovely cigarillo. Its length gives it a very mild taste for a cigarillo. As it is thin (it is, after all, a cigarillo) it doesn't take too long to smoke, despite its length. A real good and absolutely cheap alternative to my beloved Macanudos.

Only had one thus far, and that was outside when walking the dog in cool weather. Not my favourite time for smoking a cigar. But these little cigars seem to be quite ok. Draw was ok, taste good.

For me THE alternative to cigarillos. A real cigar with real, lovely cigar-taste, in the size of a cigarillo. Perfect for at work, during breaks, or anytime when a larger cigar would take too much time to smoke. They do not always draw well, but given the small size of this longfiller, that's no real surprise. A real favourite.
