What exactly is this Dark Fired Leaf?
Well, to put it simply, the tobacco leaves are dried over wood fires, usually in closed barns. The aim is not only to dry the tobacco, but also to expose it to smoke in order to give it a strong, distinctive flavour. The smoke also produces the dark brown, almost black colour.
However, smoking the end product pure is only for hardliners who wear a neat blow-dry hairstyle as chest hair.
Now our Brazilian friends have come up with a way to tame this dark bruiser.
The solution is as tasteful as it is elegant. They add red Virginias to complement the smokiness with herbal flavours and add unsweetened Black Cavendish. Incidentally, this seems to be of significantly better quality than Orlik's black smoke cardboard.
The BC refines, smoothes and dampens the flavours, resulting in a tobacco spicy and robust mix, but one that is not overpowering, full-bodied or overly strong.
Lovers of pithy tobaccos will really like this ‘Dark Fired’ and enjoy the fact that it is not heavy and can be smoked more often during the day and/or from larger heads.
This is not a test of courage for baseball cap-clad rednecks, but the elegant version of a delicate, pithy nature boy.
