Dona Flor Mata Fina Robusto (MF)
Nicarao Especiales Hermoso
Länge: 13.34Durchmesser: 1.83 TAMWonderful cigar. Pre lighting delivers a lot of peppery nuances which it was for the first 5 minutes. Maybe even too much, since it almost over runs other flavor that are present. But soon after it becomes more complex as the elements find their places. Second third delivers an interesting variation of spices and floral notes. Meaty first taste with bay leave, pepper and nutmeg on the top and a floral after taste, a bit like rose water lingers nicely in the sides. Burns and draws very well and keeps interesting all the way to the nub. Great every day cigar with solid performance. Need to buy a few more to have it matured. Hoping it will become from good to excellent.

Länge: 13.97Durchmesser: 1.98 TAMBeautiful to look at. Excellent draw and burn with lots of flavors to play with. Lighting the tip gives pleasant aromas of roasted nuts and, cedary and mocca toast. The First third starts with a burst of epresso foam top with roasted sesame seeds and a floral notes. Very lovely. Second brings more peppery and more milky foam of smoke where the floral notes are more recognizable. The burn is steady and cool, which keeps the delicate notes present at all time. Last third is where this cigar losts its power and becomes very single note but still a good cigar. All in all a great cigar and with proper maturing I believe can became even better. Worth the investment!

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.06 TAMI found this cigar a bit too average taste wise. The flavors were a bit too restrained. When warming up the tip, it gave a burst of flavors and once lit the flavors did come to live. But very soon after smoking the first third flavor became very thin. I'll let the nes i still have rest at my humidor for a year or two. Lets see what happens.

Länge: 17.78Durchmesser: 1.98 TAMHad to smoke two of these before I dared to make any assumptions and have to say I was ever so slightly disappointed of the total endurance of this cigar. It lighted with burst of complexity and width. Floral and spicy notes tangled the taste palette with thick creamy smoke. A very pleasant first third. Almost perfect without the slight tight draw. Here is where the excellence ended. From the second third the smoke had one big problem: Lack off present. By this I mean that you can almost get the full force of what this cigar is capable off but never quite getting there. Always a step or two behind and as you get closer the nub the game is already getting pretty boring. Very sad. But I won't give up. I still have high hopes for this cigar. Maybe a year or two of maturing will undress the restrains of this cigar. My suggestions is to buy a few let it rest in your humidor for a year or two and then try one. There is lot of potential in this cigar...
Flor de Copan Linea Puros Robusto
Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 2.06 TAMAbsolute charming cigar. Lots of pleasant smoke with creamy and subtle flavor of nuts. Starts with abundant of pleasant white smoke with hint of pepper and touch of citrus. A nice nutty flavor accompanies the smoke soon after lighting and follows nearly to the very end. Along with creamy touch this cigar almost finnish strong. Unfortunately it becomes very bitter toward the nub, but once there you've had had a great smoking experience and not much more can be requested from this cigar, especially with this price range. Mild to medium cigar. A must have!
Marca Fina Panama Corona
Länge: 13.97Durchmesser: 1.59 TAFGreat everyday cigar for a affordable price. Well rolled, with a nice even burn but with slightly tight draw, which is almost not worthy mentioning. Flavor wise this cigar packs a lot more than I was expecting for which immediately made this my one favorite casual cigar to smoke. Lots of pepper and earthiness with subtle notes of rye, toast bread and pinch of salt, just to make the flavor flow. For a smoking time less than a hour, and turning a bit too hot and nicotine towards the end, it is good to leave it some where at the beginning of the first third. Your call but not smoking all the way to the nub left me with a pleasant after taste for a while. I should try the robusto sizes if they can match better towards the end. But for this prize. No Complaints.
Don Pepin My Father Cigars Cedros Eminentes
Länge: 14.29Durchmesser: 1.83 TAMBeautiful cigar with an excellent draw. Pre lighting gives an impression of a very passionate taste profile. Upon first draw a peppery march takes the show accompanied with a chili dressing. Some earthiness and leather can be found following way back. Promising first third. Second third is a more rounded and even sum of all the tastes mentioned earlier. Closing the final second the cigar suddenly gets lost in the game. And third is a mere reflection of its glory moments. Very sad ending. Did not quite found a way to really master its potential and instead left everything a bit short. Should and could have been better but underscored and positioned some where in the average league. Not a bad cigar cigar but with this price tag should have been better. Maturing did some good to it and company it with a drink makes this a even better. Scoring best from appearances and lowest from taste performance. Have a try, some might enjoy this not so offensive type cigar.
Don Pepin Le Bijou 1922 Petit Robusto
Länge: 11.43Durchmesser: 1.98 TAMA very pleasant Cigar but needs a proper maturing to become from average to fantastic. I left it mature for a year and it did huge different. Upon lighting pepper dominates the palette but mellows down quickly, giving more space for those more subtle aromas to appeal. Citrus and coco beans are introduced topped with a bit of salt. Second third brings more heat warming up the flavor into a rounder and creamier smoke giving a stronger grip of coffee and earthiness. At its last third the cigar becomes very sensitive to over smoking. Smoke it too often it becomes too hot and diminishes all the subtle flavors. Smoke it too little it tend to cool and die out, which makes it hard keep alive. And this happened to every single cigar I smoked. Strange little curiosity...
Don Pepin Original Blue Edition Invictos
Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 1.98 TAMI founded Don Pepins Blue serie a very one sided and specially its robusto sized Invictos. Charming to look at but from the ones I had it either had a bit tight draw or a bad burn. One did had both faults. Flavor wise it did not match its looks and gave a very narrow taste profile. Mostly pepper and woody and a lot of it. Some might enjoy such a simple forward approach but I prefer more balancing aromas and tastes to harmonize the pure power of the pepper. A hint of creaminess, cocoa or coffee would had given this a more satisfying smoke but as it is, I stopped smoking it during the last third once I was convinced that it would not change at all towards the end. Basically smoking the first third pretty much sums the entire cigar. Not much and a bit less. Smoked few of them just to make sure and gave the rest away at any occasion suitable. Very disappointing.
Montecristo Petit Edmundo
Länge: 11.00Durchmesser: 1.98 TAMCharming little hitter packed with strong flavors. Classic flavor combo in a perfect harmony: Nutty, creamy, leathery, woody and deliciously salty. Incredibly wide flavor palette from the very first lighting to the very end. Playfully leaning first into its cocoa side and then suddenly turning faces and giving a more dominant coffee nuances with peppery twist. First third differs from the second only by a more wider scent with herbal notes to it. But flavor wise this cigar keeps on smacking big blows all the way to the end. Petit Edmundo gives a big show so effortlessly but sadly it does not last for long. Must remember to savor the moment and keep your mind and heart on it at all the time, otherwise you might find it burning your finger all too soon.
Saint Luis Rey Regios
Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 1.91 TAMA pleasant every day smoke. Very similar to Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2 as to flavor profile. Nutty, woody and leathery upon first lighting, which progress into a more creamy and salty combo before the second third. Definitely the best part was between the first and second third. As it gets closer to the nub, smoke gives less and less flavors but with a pleasant saltiness all the way. Good classic cuban cigar!
Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2
Länge: 12.38Durchmesser: 1.98 TAMA decent robusto that needs no special occasion to fire up. A very all round average performer. Slightly too tight draw down graded this cigar a lot for me, since the flavors are already very subtle and can not take many physical misfortunes in the making. Small hints of cocoa, nuts and creamy espresso were found when concentrating enough but better just enjoy it as it is a good every day cigar. Leave the other flavor stuff observing to cigars with more character.
Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Torpedo (Box-pressed)
Länge: 16.41Durchmesser: 1.59 TAMBeautiful Box pressed torpedo with superb binding. A gorgeous cigar to look at and best thing yet, a great cigar to smoke. a full course smoke meal. Pre lighting lifts up a wonderful bokeh of cocoa, coffee and noble trees. Once ignited it picks up a abundant of smoke with a good draw. First third starts gently, piling the flavors beautifully on top of another until you reach the final of the first third and here is when the cigar is at its best: Lots of aroma and spices. Yes spices, such as cinnamon, star anis, black and white pepper, salt, leather and earthy nuances. All this in a good harmony. Towards the second it becomes more beefy, umami like. And by the last third flavors are purified which tends to mellow everything but after such a raid of flavor it is a perfect way to end the cigar, which otherwise would made the cigar too heavy. A must have and try!
