La Chaveta White Robusto_Zigarre

Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 2.06 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

I've smoked it on a walk by the Rhine today - for about 70-80 minutes. I have to agree I was not expecting anything over average, but I was wrong. First things first - I love the consistency. It is also rolled very well. The label looks good, but the paper is hard to take off (could have been a bit better in quality because the smoke is). Could smell the nicaraguan vibe from the cold draw - with a certain mix of strong woods and wet, fat land soils. The level of creaminess is just right, and the aroma mix is just the way I like it. Plenty of wood flavours, a mix of soils, a bit spicy but just enough to know you smoke a cigar and not eat a cake. Grassy notes are present also, nutty aromas here and there, leather can be felt too and slight hints of coffee and chocolate. A super solid smoke for the price. All in all it feels like... coziness. It feels like being home after a hard day out and about. It feels right. I got the whole package so will test the small and the big version too and I can definitely recommend it. I think it is a good start for beginners too, especially that it has an excellent price/quality ratio and is not strong enough to kill a baby smoker, yet enough to satisfy even an OG. Peace and love!

Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Robusto
verifizierter Kauf

Länge: 13.97Durchmesser: 1.98 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Rocky Patel has some great sticks, like the Sixty or the ALR second edition, but most of their sticks are just like this one - boring. Well rolled, decent draw, good burn, even the consistency is ok, and the taste... the same "ok". There's flavours don't get me wrong - but they are....weak. You feel some woody notes, coffee and some dark soils but it's not a good quality mix. Can't say bad either. Just dull. Smoked it for about 70 minutes and was not impressed at all. All in all it feels like Tuesday morning on a 9 to 5 job. Unfortunately not a recommendation from my side. Peace and love!

Gran Robusto

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.38 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Smoked it for about 90 minutes. Decent smoke. Well rolled. Good consistency. Nice punchy soil-wood aromas in the cold draw. Label reminds me of Oscar Valladeers design. Easy to smoke in general. Medium strength. Plenty of cream and aromas on the rough side - dark muds, pepper, toast and coffee, hard essence woods. Some hints of old raisins. The kind of smoke that goes well with spirits. Not bad at all, with the only drawback that for this price - Nicaragua cigars have much more to offer. I know- I expect a lot but competition is really tough these days from Nicaragua. One example that quickly comes to mind would be Joya Silver in Toro format. All in all it feels like when you have the type of job that pays well, you can do it neatly, yet feel like something is missing. Would I smoke this again? Would rather try more from these guys. Should you? Well if you like to experiment and curious of new stuff yes definitely. Maybe not the best fit for beginners. It is a good smoke all in all. Peace and love!

The Brotherhood No. 1
verifizierter Kauf

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.06 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

I find it amusing with Oscar Valladares cigars that most reviewers detect different flavors. Now why is that? Here's another example. Oscar is not only creative in the way they produce their labels, banderoles and even play with the design of the leaves or the cigar itself - but they play with the way they mix and treat their leaves and this is pure bravery in a domain that's imo filled with stiff "afficionados". Back to the matter of the fact. The Brotherhood No. 1 looks good, feels good in the hand and has a decent consistency (a little bit too airy for my taste). Taste evolves around dried summer fruits on a base of wood, wet light soils, leather and nuts. Very creamy too - which is just right for the tropical fruity grassy vibes it gives. It gets a bit peppery on the second half, but nothing bothering. Cannot say it is a light cigar, but the breezy aromas makes it feel so, which makes it a great option for beginners who are into experimenting with aromas. All in all it feels like a what seems to be a cute, shy ladyboy who pretends to be "lost" on a Tuesday evening on a beach in SE Asia. Now wtf does that even mean? It means it looks and feels at first hand as a cute cigar that was built out of a joke - but it's much more than that and there's plenty to be discovered if you give it some time. Now would I smoke this again? Not a blast or a classic but definitely would like to try it again. Also decentish for the price. Peace and love!

Mata Hari Limited Edition 2024

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.06 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

After having the opportunity to try out the Mata Hari Courtisane some months ago - and loving it- time has come for the 2024 Limited Edition and all I can say is DAAAAYUMN Mata Hari! You a hottie! Excellent construction with just the right thickness in consistency. Actually it is so well done that I could hold the ash to almost half of it without trying any tricks (as I don t care to hold long ash lines on my smokes anyhoo). The label and the cigar itself look and feel premium and from the first toke you can feel it's a proper smoke. Not strong in flavours and just a bit creamy - yet the flavours blend so well that you don't need more. Young wood and summer grass with hints of summer flowers and unriped fruits. Toast is present, but in a pleasant, domesticated way. There is a counter-balance with some fertile, dark soil flavours and it simply....works! All in all it reminded me of youth summers when I was touching grass much more often and felt closer to the land than the urban nobody I am now. Mata Hari already has 2 5 stars with me and oh the price. Not cheap, but almost right for the quality- so no complaints here. Now would I ever smoke a Mata Hari again? Actually looking forward to! And you should try it - might end up falling for it too. Peace and love!

Foundation Cigars Olmec Zigarrenkiste

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.06 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

A proper smoke. Stick looks and feels solid. Very well constructed and good consistency. Cold draw says woody notes all the way. Creamy, thick smoke fills your mouth and gently arouses senses. Wood is boss here. A bit wet. Old strong tree wood. There’s a soily feel to it too - fat land type of soils. Hay and grass is also present with more peppery notes in the second half. Quality aromas. All in all it feels like village food from land products. Simple in appearance but very tasty. There is only one problem in my opinion - price. Yes it is a good cigar yet there s serious competition in this price area and this one is not sticking its head up too much here. Still a full GO for it if you like rich and wholesome smoking experiences. Peace and love!

Maduro Robusto Bundle

Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 1.98 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Nah hell no my friends. One hour of smoking uncle Michael’s worn socks? Hell no. Production wise it looks good but consistency betrays cheap intentions. Burns quick - like a short filler- and good luck trying to build any ash on this one. Taste is not my piece if cake at all. Old moldy wood, rust, wet old leather, rancid wet hay… all in all it reminds me of abandoned houses and their specific smell. Yes it is a cheap stick bit won’t try another even if I m paid to. Cannot recommend. Peace and love!

Underrated Sublimes Stick 2

Länge: 16.51Durchmesser: 2.14 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

It is not an everyday thing for me to write about things that make me trip on life. Those I love and lost. Where I come from. Where I am. Love. Pain. Lust. Anger. Freedom. Hope. What a cigar, my friends. What a ride. Solid. Heavenly due to the thick smoke tickling senses in a raw, crude way. Hellish due to its rough thick smoke keeping your feet down to earth. Constructed to perfection. Not a single flaw. Burn is even and constant. Even after 2-3 minute pauses it keeps on delivering without needing lighter aid. Reminded me of the Sergeant in Toro size. Luciano are masters and the Underrated name is a precise description of what this cigar can do to a smoker. Smoked cigars 4 times the price that are little sissies to this proper smoke. Wood is king here. A mix of hard essence wood, cane, dry tree bark, toasty old leather, dark wet soils and some hints of dry fruits and hay. Punchy on the senses that are alive. A morning call to the taste buds. Reminds me of my good Grandfather I miss so much. Hard essence. Thick spine. Lover of life. I just hope you don’t smoke cigars and never tried a Luciano. Peace and love!

Classic Sixty
verifizierter Kauf

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.38 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano (Mediumfiller)TAF

Tried this after the Shade Churchill. Smoked it for about max 1 hour and took my time with it. It burns fast - probably short fillers do so compared to long fillers? Nicely made with an even and easy burn - no flaws in construction and consistency. Same simple bouquet of aromas evolving around the chocolate-coffee-dark soils and some toasty feels, toasted nuts and some hay. Basic in flavours somehow but it does not disappoint. All in all I see this as a quicky. Maybe with coffee? Feels like a snack of cigars. Also for the price - nothing bad to say at all. Would recommend to beginners with the amendment that although it’s a proper cigar - it’s still a short filler so if you’re trying this as your first - don’t imagine you got the full cigar smoking experience. Peace and love!

Shade Churchill Stick 2

Länge: 17.78Durchmesser: 1.91 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

I haven't tried many shortfillers and always thought shortfiller equals low quality. I was wrong and nicely surprised by this stick though. Also a nice surprise from Rocky Patel who rarely hits the sweet spot. Great consistency, well produced and a nice even burn. Of course it burns much faster than a longfiller so even though it was a big bat - it lasted for about one hour max. The flavour is pretty basic - aromas playing a lot around the coffee-dark chocolate-wood areas. Some dark soils can be felt too along the way and leathery feels here and there with some hints of nuts. Not bad - and if the smoke would have been creamy - this could have been quite a gem. All in all it feels like something nice to smoke on-the-go, like a nice canned meat with bread on a long hike in the mountains. Should you try it? Out of curiosity yes and if your budget is tight - absolutely yes because it scores very well for the money. Peace and love!

54x6 Stick 2

Länge: 15.24Durchmesser: 2.14 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

A light delight. Smoked it for about 90 minutes, but took my time with it. Always loved the cover paper of CLEs - makes them feel like a gift when you take that thing off. Well produced and rolled, with exceptional consistency. This means it's very easy to light up and draws are just perfect. Didn t need a single relight and also the smoke is plenty and heavily creamy - almost buttery. Aromas evolve around a refreshing mix of light soils, young leather, green grass and fruity kicks here and there. It gets slightly peppery in the second half, but not in a bothering way. there s hints of coffee and nuts - but those are barely perceived. All in all it feels like the second day of holiday - when everything feels light-hearted and relaxed. Price I consider decent for the quality, but not necessarily a strong point. Should you try it? Especially now that summer is here I strongly recommend a try - and it should be a good starting point for any beginner. Peace and love!

Classico Short Robusto

Länge: 10.16Durchmesser: 2.14 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Smoked this little one for about one hour. Felt like something you could smoke on a daily basis either with your coffee or late eve with a last glass of scotch. For the price it's a pretty good one. Decently rolled, ok burn, easy to light up. The creaminess is the best part of it, yet the flavours are not really kicking in. There's some wood, hay, some toasty leather and some soils, but pretty hard to distinguish which is what. All in all it feels like that decent train station cheap kebap when you had a few beers, are in your 20s and hungry - doing the job just well. Will I try it again? Not really. La Aurora has much much better to offer - for higher prices though. Still if you re looking for your next everyday smoke and aren't a moonboy, this might work so it's worth a try. Peace and love!

Nero Black Robusto Stick 2

Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 1.98 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Now this was a nice surprise. It felt like smoking pure dark chocolate. Enjoyed it for about 70 minutes. Well processed, easy to light up and easy to smoke. Zero burning issues along the way and plenty of smoke. Now for the awesome part. Very strong dark cocoa/cofee/rich soils mixture, all wrapped around nicely in plenty of creaminess. It literally felt like smoking dark chocolate, and it was awesome. Strangely enough it is not a rough smoke. There's some spiciness to it, some roasted beans feel here and there, fruity aromas and hay too. Another great aspect is that although this cigar is all about rich soils and cocoa - it doesn't let go on the other aspects - with the citrus touches, hay and a bit of leather reminding you here and there that this cigar works on different fronts. All in all it felt like a first trip to an exotic place. Punchy feelings and lots of excitement when discovering what you never imagined when you step foot there. Curious to try other Valentinos now. As for this one - full recommendation at least for a try. Even for beginners this could open the doors to the cigar world in an unexpected way. Peace and love!

VF 42L Stick 2

Länge: 18.73Durchmesser: 1.67 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Smoked it for almost 2 hours, but after one and a half I was feeling done with it already. And no it is not a bad smoke. Neither too good to justify the length in my opinion. Looks solid, rolling seems decent and consistency is comsi comsa - as the burning was a bit problematic after the first third, having to re-light it every 5-10 minutes. Now for what truly matters. The smoke. A big plus is the creaminess. Flavours evolve around the fresh leather, dry soils, toast, coffee and chocolate. Nutty here and there and spicy towards the end - but not too much. There's some hints of European forest wood here and there and some hay, but those are hidden by the strong leather-soil mix. A folk cigar if you ask me. Works with anything. I had it with beer and wine, but could have had it with a coffee or a soda and would enjoy it just as much. Reminded me of the late 80s communist public swimming-pool ice-cream - nowhere near the first Michellin star but was doing the job perfectly in torrid summer days. Because of the size - wouldn t recommend it to a beginner, although it's about medium strength. For everyday smokers though - I think it is a very good smoke for the money. Peace and love, y'all!

Henry Clay War Hawk Corona Kiste offen

Länge: 12.70Durchmesser: 1.75 Herstellungsart Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

If I'm not wrong it's my first Henry Clay and what a nice surprise it was. Lasted for about one hour which is decent for a corona. To be honest for me the aspect of it says nothing in particular - just an average looking cigar. Very well processed though and with great consistency. Easy to light up and smoke and that's exactly when I was blown away - the very first toke. Medium-light in strength. Creamy. A wonderful cocktail of aromas in the area of summer flowers and fruits, young wood, fresh grass, barely ripe hazelnuts, and soft flavours of chocolate, leather and light, post-rain soils. All in all it felt like getting out of your house right after one of the first summer rains that the earth missed and the smell of wet dust and soil tickles your brain in a healthier way than an erotic massage. Would definitely recommend this to beginners and all of you who like lighter smokes. I had it with a cold beer, but I can only imagine this would go excellent with a hard, black coffee. An absolute recommendation for at least a try and oh almost forgot. Price is top for what you get. Great job, Henry Clay. Peace and love!
