Royal Danish Cigars Single Blend Sangre Azul (klassische Variante)
Sangre Azul (klassische Variante)
Hier ein offizielles Statement zur Herstellungsart der Sangre Azul, von Jan Vistisen dem CEO und Inhaber von Royal Danish Cigars:
Sangre Azul is a "Fusion Cigar" which means it is a medium filler. A part of the cigar contains "Short Filler" tobaccos, but it's still 100% hand made! This fusion cigar should by not be confused with general short filler cigars in the market. This special filler is made only from the cut of the foot from our expensive Regal Blend Danish West Indies line and it has not been chopped up!
I'm extremely proud of this fusion project. It took over a year to get the blend right and the market has received our Sangre Azul with open arms. More than 8 different tobaccos are used to create the blend. The proportional mix is a well guarded production secret.
In the process we tried to make the same Blend as Longfiller but even at a ring size of 70 it was not possible to get the same beautiful flavor notes as in the box pressed Fusion version. I believe flavor weighs higher than the cut of the leaves in this cigar. Even if it would have been possible to create the same flavor in a traditional Longfiller it would cost 4-5 times more to consumers due to the filler difference between the two types of cigars.
Sangre Azul is by no means a cheap cigar to produce. It actually cost more than our H. Blend Short Robusto Longfiller to make. And we all know the Short Robusto sells at a higher price.
So, WHEN price contra flavor is taken into account, I believe we have reached the absolute best value for money. If anyone still consider Sangre Azul a "Short Filler" then I will claim it's the Rolls Royce of medium fillers and we raised the bar for highest quality fusion cigars which easily beats many Longfiller cigars at that price level.
Finally - Will I do it again, I don't think so. Sangre Azul is a one off fusion project. It's not part of our Historic Collection box, but by its own it's an amazing achievement.
